About the Journal

AL-ULFAH is a high-quality, open-access, peer-reviewed research journal published by the Islamic Family Law Study Program at the Ukhuwah College of Sharia Studies (Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Syari’ah Ukhuwah), Sukoharjo. Aimed at disseminating original research and relevant contemporary issues, the journal publishes articles and research reports twice a year, in June and December. Its primary focus is the study of Islamic family law in relation to the plurality and life values found within Southeast Asian societies. The scope of Islamic family law—or *ahwal syahsiyah*—covered by AL-ULFAH includes marriage, divorce, familial rights and obligations, domestic violence, and various contemporary issues. The journal’s content encompasses established and applied jurisprudence within Southeast Asian contexts, local cultural influences, and diverse approaches to the study of Islamic law. AL-ULFAH welcomes contributions from academics in related fields; however, the novelty of the research and the topicality of the issues are the primary priorities in the publication process.
